This article explains how to view Content in myCourses.
In this article:
Viewing content
Students can access Content by clicking the Content link on the course navigation bar.

The numbers beside the Table of Contents and each module and a progress bar at the top of the page indicate how many items you have left to view in the course and each module. A checkmark to the right indicates you have already viewed an item or module.
You can click:
- Overview to view your course syllabus or the front page of the course.
- Bookmarks to show a list of bookmarked items.
- Upcoming Events to show a list of due dates and other course-specific events from the Calendar.
- Table of Contents to go to the main listing of modules
- A module in the sidebar to view the items within it.
- An item to view it.
Using the document viewer
After clicking on an item in the Content Browser or main Content page, you will be taken to the Document Viewer.

In the Document Viewer, you can click:
- The breadcrumb links at the top left of the page to return to the Table of Contents or module.
- The
Viewing content in a new window icon to show the item in a new window. - The arrows in the top right corner to go to the next item in the course.
- The floating side panel tab to expand it.

After expanding the side panel, click an item in the list to navigate to a different item within the same module or click the arrow at the top right to go to the next module.


Bookmarking content
After you bookmark content items, you can easily access them from the Bookmark page in Content or the Bookmark tab of the Content Browser widget.
Adding a bookmark
To add a bookmark:
- Click the name of an item in Content or in the Content Browser widget on the Course Home page.
- Click the Bookmark icon in the top right corner of the page.

The bookmark icon will change colour.
Removing a bookmark
To remove a bookmark:
- Click Content.
- Click Bookmarks.
- Click the arrow beside the name of the bookmarked item you want to remove and select Remove Bookmark.

Downloading content
You can easily save all content or individual content modules as a .zip file and store it on your computer for offline viewing or archiving. You can also download individual content items.
Downloading all content
To download all content:
- Click Content.
- Click Table of Contents.
- Click the arrow beside Table of Contents at the top of the page and select Download.
- In the pop-up window that appears, open or save the .zip file to your computer.
Downloading a module
To download a module:
- Click Content.
- Select a Module from the sidebar.
- Click the arrow beside the name of the module at the top of the page and select Download.
- In the pop-up window that appears, open or save the .zip file to your computer.
Downloading an item
To download an item:
- Click the name of an item in Content or in the Content Browser widget on the Course Home page.
- Click the arrow beside the name of the item at the top of the page and select Download.

Rating content
Students have the ability to rate and leave feedback for any Content item in myCourses that they have access to. Only the instructor and teaching assistants can see these ratings and comments.
To rate content:
- Click the name of an item in Content or in the Content Browser widget on the Course Home page.
- Click the arrow beside the name of the item at the top of the page and select Submit Feedback.

The Submit Feedback window will open.
- In the pop-up window:
- Click the stars to select a Rating out of 5.
- Enter Comments.
- Select the checkbox under Anonymous if you don’t want the instructor to know who submitted this rating and/or feedback.
- Click Submit.

Note: You cannot delete any ratings or comments you submit, but you can edit them by repeating the steps above for any content item you've already rated and/or for which you've submitted feedback.
