In the Web Management System (WMS), blocks are pre-designed containers for important or highlighted information. A block can be placed on one or more pages, allowing content to be updated in one place.

To do some additional configuration of a block, such as to place a block only on the French homepage using the special path <front>:
The Title of your block is translated on the block configuration interface in a separate field called Block Title.
New blocks copy the Title to the Block Title field automatically. If you are editing an existing block, you may need to manually add the Title to the Block Title field in order to translate it.

If you find that the field appears greyed-out and un-editable once you arrive at the block configuration title translation interface:
Check that there is a block title. Navigate to Structure > Blocks, and check that the Block title has been set and is not <none>. There must be a title in order to translate it. Be sure to add a title and then click Save and translate.
Alternate text and title fields of images can be translated in blocks that have an image upload field, such as Statement, Call to Action, Hero and List blocks.
To add and translate the alternate text and title of an image in a block:
Your blocks will now display alternative text in both languages.
